P T Usha Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award by SJFI and DSJA 

Legendary sprinter and current President of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), PT Usha, was honoured with the prestigious ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award. 

This accolade was presented to her by the Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) and Delhi Sports Journalists Association (DSJA), recognizing her extraordinary contributions to Indian athletics. PT Usha, often hailed as the “Queen of Indian track and field,” was presented with a medallion, a citation, and a memento, signifying the high esteem in which she is held for her stellar sporting career.

• Born in – Perambra, Kozhikode 
• Nominated to the Rajya Sabha by former President Ram Nath Kovind on 6th July 2022. 
• Elected president of the Indian Olympic Association in December 2022. 
• In December 2022, she was appointed to the panel of Rajya Sabha vice chairman to control the proceedings of the upper house during the absence of both Chairman and Deputy Chairman. 
• The first nominated MP in history to become the Vice Chairperson of the Rajya Sabha. 

Outstanding Businesswoman of the Year 2023 - Dr Bina Modi 

Dr. Bina Modi, the esteemed Chairperson of Modi Enterprises, has been honored with the prestigious ‘Outstanding Business Woman of the Year’ Award. 

This recognition, bestowed upon her by Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister of India, at a distinguished conference organized by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), underscores her exceptional leadership and contributions to the industry. 

As Chairperson of Modi Enterprises – KK Modi Group, Dr. Bina Modi oversees a diverse portfolio of companies, including the renowned FMCG giant, Godfrey Phillips India, and the leading agro-chemical firm, Indofil. 

Energy Week 2024 

India Energy Week 2024 is being held from 6^th to 9^th February in Goa. It is India’s largest and only all-encompassing energy exhibition and conference, bringing together the entire energy value chain, and will catalyse India's energy transition goals. The Prime Minister of India inaugurated the India Energy Week (IEW) 2024 in Goa and the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) Sea Survival Centre.  

ONGC Sea Survival Centre is an Integrated Sea Survival Training Centre to advance the Indian sea survival training ecosystem to global standards. 

New Monumental Tribute Bapu Tower to Mahatma Gandhi Built in Patna, Bihar 

In the heart of Patna, Bihar, a new landmark has emerged as a monumental tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. 

The Bapu Tower, located in Gardanibagh, stands as a testament to the enduring legacy and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. 

The Bapu Tower, towering at a height of 120 feet and comprising six stories, is the realization of a dream project envisioned by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
