Odisha Government Announces ‘Mo Ghara’ Housing Scheme
Odisha government has announced launching of ‘Mo Ghara’ scheme to convert kutcha houses into pucca houses. The housing scheme was approved by the Odisha cabinet “to meet the aspiration of the lower and lower middle income households of rural Odisha,” said the state government in a statement.
The scheme will cover all such families who were left out in the existing housing schemes either due to stringent eligibility criteria or insufficient allocation.
Under the scheme, a beneficiary can avail housing loan of up to Rs. 3 lakh which can be repaid in 10 years excluding 1 year moratorium period in easy installments. Beneficiaries from the scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, or a person with disabilities will get up to ?40,000 financial assistance for every ?1 lakh loan to build or expand their house while others can get up to R 30,000 financial assistance.
'Smile Ambassador' for Maharashtra Government - Sachin Tendulkar
The Maharashtra government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sachin Tendulkar, appointing him as the ‘Smile Ambassador’ for its oral hygiene campaign under the state’s ‘Swachh Mukh Abhiyan’. The agreement is valid for five years. The campaign is a part of the Indian Dental Association’s push for oral health. The Swachh Mukh Abhiyaan is a national campaign undertaken by the Indian Dental Association to improve oral health and hygiene and educate people about its importance. The SMA campaign has been conceptualised in association with the Indian Dental Association (IDA) in order to promote oral hygiene. The SMA aims to educate people about the importance of good oral hygiene by spreading awareness about the same.

Jyothi Yarraji Clinches Gold Medal at T-Meeting 2023
India’s Jyothi Yarraji clinched the gold medal in the women’s 100m hurdles event while Mohammed Afsal Pulikkalakath finished third in the men’s 400m race at the T-Meeting 2023 athletics meet, in Tilburg, the Netherlands
The 23-year-old Jyothi Yarraji clocked 13.20s in the final to win the event at the category E World Ranking competition. En route to the final, Jyothi Yarraji topped the heats with a time of 13.08s.
Angel Agwazie of Belgium clinched the silver with 13.64s while Dutch athlete Mira Groot clocked 13.78s to bag the bronze.
This was Jyothi Yarraji’s second gold medal in a span of two days. The Andhra runner clinched the gold medal in the women’s 100m hurdles event at the Kurpfalz Gala 2023 athletics meet, in Weinheim, Germany on Saturday.
Maharashtra Government Launched the Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Yojana
The scheme, Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Yojana, was approved at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in Mumbai
Under this scheme, more than one crore farmers in the state will be paid Rs. 6,000 annually. The amount is in addition to 6,000 rupees being paid to farmers by the Centre under the PM Kisan Yojana
Maharashtra Cabinet also approved implementation of 'Gender Inclusive Tourism Policy called 'Aai' to empower women in the tourism sector. Similarly, approval was also given to start women's bike-taxi services at some tourist spots in the State.
